Bambi + Zombies = FOREVER

Monster A Go-Go

I guess it’s not fair to say ‘forever’ as such a tryst would be so totally one sided. But hey, talk about unconditional love, right? Though I suppose having a delicious brain might be a condition. Once the brain is gobbled up, what’s left for us? You don’t bring me flowers, you don’t sing me love songs?

So a recent job application send by yours truly to ShootForTheHead.com has left me with zombies on the brain (aaah! aaah!) so I thought I’d ask the loyal readers here at HPG — what’s your favourite zombie movie?

Now, there are those of us Deadheads (wait, that’s something else) that love the classics — Night of The Living Dead, White Zombie, Dawn of The Dead, etc. There are those of us who like the cult flicks and b movies — Zombie Nightmare, A Virgin Among The Living Dead, etc. There are those of us who like foreign zombie movies, new and gorey zombie movies, corny ones, serious ones, ones that are social commentaries — really, the possibilities are endless. Or maybe you like them all. I, for one, have my favourites — Dead Set, Boy Eats Girl, Dead Snow, Zombieland, Fido, Dead and Breakfast, Dawn of the Dead (both versions give me different kinds of thrills) and dozens upon dozens more — but generally, I’ll watch anything ‘zombie’ once (including such hilariously terrible flicks as Zombiez and Monster A Go-Go).

So again, I ask — what kind of zombie fan are you? What movies/shows are your favourites?

Brain in a vat

Hello HPG readers old and new, and welcome to the inner reaches of my brain. Welcome to the hive mind!

I’m sure this isn’t news to any of you who read sites like HotPinkGeek regularly, but I spend a good portion of my time ‘researching’ the most ridiculous things on the internet and sharing them with those who will listen (and a few who really won’t).

Over the next few days I’ll be sharing with you my favourite lists of 2009 — websites, crazy people, whoa-worthy videos — everything you’ve come to expect from HotPinkGeek and more!

Without further ado, here’s today’s list: Websites where you can waste absurd amounts of time!

Now, I’ve not spent a lot of time organizing them into rank – in my head or otherwise – so I want you to look at this list as one solid, flowing piece of crap artwork wherein you could randomly choose a link and be whisked away to a magical land of ridiculous/funny/mind-blowing and lose the better portion of your productive work day. I am to distract and amuse!
And… go! (Click here for HPG’s Top 25 of 2009: Websites where you can waste absurd amounts of time)

How-to: Make a meat hand!

As a Halloween dinner treat, I stumbled on this great way to serve meatloaf.  Lucky for all involved, I make an awesome meatloaf.

Fellow blogger notmartha instructs us on how to make a meat hand!

I tried my own hand… at making said meat hand.  I went with the ‘cheese on top’ option.

Without as many tries as she had it didn’t turn out as well but I was still very happy with the result and it was delicious and creepy to serve.

Suggested listening: Evil Dead: The Musical soundtrack because, really, what goes better with cooking a meal that looks like zombie bits than a music about zombies and killing them?
